Due to Misreprepresentation Policy and domain change, GMC is suspended

Hello everyone,

My client’s Google Merchant Center account has been suspended due to the Misrepresentation Policy, and I would really appreciate your guidance. The client operates a dropshipping store, and we have already taken several corrective steps, including:

  • Ensuring clear and visible contact information in the footer

  • Fixing inconsistencies in shipping details across the website

  • Removing placeholders and improving overall website transparency

  • Aligning product data and settings within Google Merchant Center

After thoroughly reviewing everything, I discovered that the client previously had:

  • An old domain with a separate GMC account, which was also suspended due to Misrepresentation

  • That account is now permanently suspended, with Google stating that the issue would continue to impact the products and no further reviews are allowed

About a month ago, the client:

  • Switched to a new domain

  • Created a new GMC account on the new domain, which has now also been suspended for the same Misrepresentation policy

At this point, I have implemented all possible fixes on both the website and the new GMC. However, I have not yet escalated the issue to Google Support for a manual review.

My question:

Given the history of a previously suspended (and now permanently disabled) Merchant Center account on a different domain, is it still possible for this new account to be reinstated after making all necessary fixes? Or could the previous suspension continue to impact this new account?

@EmmanuelFlossie and other experts, I would greatly appreciate any insights on how to proceed before requesting a review, or if any additional steps are required.

Thank you in advance!

from what i am able to understand, the client already had an account that was suspended for misrepresentation. after that domain, etc., was changed and new GMC was created, correct?

if these new accounts were for the same business, then the suspension is justified. that’s because creating new accounts is not recommended and if google senses that for the same business entity, multiple accounts exist whether created to avoid suspension or not, then that is circumventing systems policy violation, which is egregious

Thank you, Amlani, for your insights.
Yes, the business remains the same on the new GMC account; however, the domain has been changed, and the account is currently suspended due to the ‘Misrepresentation’ policy.
Is there any hope that the account can be reinstated after the review?

That plus already suspended account is just a failure waiting to happen. There’s no question there. Your client is not eligible.

It looks like the answer was already resolved? However, I will still share my feedback.

The chances for the new website and account to get approved is very very low. This should of never happened. If you want to have a higher success rate, you need to go back to the original website and account. And resolve the issues here. And close down the new account.

If you think about it from Google’s perspecrive, if creating a new website and or account was the solution, then what is the point suspending you in the first place.

My recommendation is to check the policies and guides again below and make sure everything is resolved:

Thank you, Emmanuel, for your insights. I would have considered reverting to the old suspended GMC; however, there is no option for further review, as Google has stated: 'Your Merchant Center is now suspended and you can’t request further reviews.

I see, if you are permanently banned, then there is no chance to get that website and account approved. In this case, if you have the funds, you need to setup a whole new business entity, I explain more about this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJzi7SCI69w
