Dutch addresses always wrong

Topic summary

A European e-commerce store is experiencing recurring address formatting issues specifically with Dutch customers. Despite clear checkout instructions requesting “street, house number, apartment number,” Dutch orders frequently arrive with reversed formatting (house number before street) or incomplete information (only house number, missing street name).

Key challenges:

  • Problem is isolated to Dutch customers; other European countries don’t exhibit this pattern
  • Daily manual correction is time-consuming
  • Current checkout field labels haven’t resolved the issue

Status: The discussion remains open with no solutions proposed yet. The poster is seeking advice from others who may have encountered similar address validation challenges with Dutch customers.

Hello, We have a store where we sell products across Europe. For some reason Dutch people constantly have incorrect addresses. Has Anyone experienced the same and what could we do about this? No other “nationality” / location has this issue. It takes so much time to correct these addresses on a daily basis. We have clearly stated at the check out:

Address (street, housenumber, apartment number).

Still the addresses come often as: housenumber, street. Or only the house number and no street name.
