We are in the process of building an e-commerce website (via Shopify) that will enable us to sell electronic spare parts in the middle east.

We work with a handful of distributors in the UK and Europe to list their products on our website. The sourcing only happens on a successful order.

From an operations perspective once the customer selects a product they should be able to choose a shipment option e.g. UPS, DPD etc.. (with associated shipping charges). On successful payment of the order the respective distributor(s) should be sent the order information and shipping details for the order to be shipped. Similarly the customer should be sent the tracking information for the order. The shipping would be international shipping from Europe into the Middle East.

Appreciate your experience can be shared to overcome this particular challenge. Happy to consider any market place apps that would enable these features. We would like to automate the whole process and try to avoid manual interventions unless required.

Basically, this is a dropshipping business model. If your suppliers have a fulfillment system that can be integrated into Shopify, most of the tasks can be automated (orders will be automatically sent to your suppliers, and tracking information will be updated when your suppliers fulfill the order).
