Dynamically adding item metafields values to order line properties

Hi all, I got a question and was wondering how to list the values of metafields to the properties on order line:

When a customer adds a Single or Child item to their cart, proceeds to checkout, and the item has non-empty values for the Unit Text and Unit ID in its metafields, how can I dynamically list those Unit Text and Unit ID values from the item’s metafields as properties of the corresponding order lines?
