ecommerce store has too many links with almost same content

hi! i have a question. My store is theplanetjunior.com

I have really big drop-down menus for boys and girls. This creates too many links, hundreds of them and the content is almost the same. You can see it on the website.

My SEO rankings are not improving for even low competition keyword.

Is the problem mentioned above the reason for not ranking? Does having too many links with the same content affect SEO and site architecture?

Please help as I have been very stressed out due to no rankings.

There are practically no links to this site and a small amount of content. For each category, you should add text describing the category.

i am not talking about backlinks. I am talking about the links in the menu within the site.
