Hello Shopify Support,
We were recently audited by the Turkish tax authority (“Maliye”) for our physical retail store. During the inspection, they informed us that there is a legal requirement in Türkiye for an ECR (Electronic Cash Register) integration/connection between the POS payment terminal and the sales/cash register system.
Our current setup uses Shopify POS together with a payment terminal, but we were told that the payment terminal and the sales screen/system must be directly connected through an ECR integration.
I previously checked with Shopify AI support and was informed that Shopify currently does not support ECR integration. However, I would like to confirm this officially with your team.
Could you please clarify:

Does Shopify POS support any ECR integration with payment terminals used in Türkiye?

Is there any certified integration partner or workaround available for Turkish fiscal compliance?

Are there any future plans to support ECR connections for Turkish retail regulations?
We truly enjoy using Shopify and have been very satisfied with the platform overall. However, this compliance issue is becoming a serious operational and financial concern for our business. If we are unable to find a compliant solution through Shopify, we may unfortunately have to evaluate alternative systems that can meet local legal requirements.
We sincerely hope to continue using Shopify and would greatly appreciate any guidance or support you can provide regarding this matter.
