Hey all,
I would like to create a new page within my Shopify store for brand categories; unfortunately, whenever I create a new page, I have to attach it to a template. The only template options I have are the contact page and default page (see image attached). If I use the default page and add a section to my template, it automatically appears on every other page that is attached to the default page template. Does anyone know how I can create a new theme and fix this hurdle? Thank you 
You need to first create the template in the Theme Editor. At the top center is the template structure. Use the dropdown to navigate to “Pages”, scroll down and create new template, base it on “default”. Then it will show up in the available templates in your screenshot.
@sof000 shopify uses shared template approach and hence you face issues of section appearing on all pages.
if you need to create limited number of pages with such sections then you can create separate template for it
