Email Forwarding not Reliable. Anyone have better alternative?

I had two instances recently where my email forwarding did not work properly (did not receive the emails and only knew when sender asked about said email.) I contacted Shopify support and the only solution they could provide was to delete my email forwarding settings and proceed with setting it up again. I cannot risk having emails disappearing into thin air. That is a great way to lose business if a potential client or customer thinks you’re not responding to their email, when in fact you never received the email!

Also on a side note, it’s not every email. Some come through and some don’t, so you may not know you aren’t receiving an email.

Does anyone have a reliable alternative for email forwarding?

Hi,** @kipplogan **.

Have you considered setting up a custom email address for your store, using email hosting? If you aren’t familiar with email hosting, you can learn more about it on our help guide here.

As mentioned on the help guide, the two email hosting platforms you can look into are Zoho Mail and Google Workspace. If you’re looking for a free option, I recommend going with Zoho Mail as they have a free forever plan. They also have instructions on how you can integrate their email services onto Shopify on their help guide here, and if you require further assistance with setting up, their support team can be reached from this contact page.

Setting up a custom email will allow your business to appear more professional, as you’ll be able to reply to customers via the custom email address. From a business’ perspective, this will then strengthen trust with customers and creates a more positive brand image too, so I highly recommend looking into setting up a custom email address for your store.
