I have received several emails in the last few weeks with that type of message concerning compliance. This last one I received today even more urgent and more detailed about what is going to happen to my store. I think it’s a hoax and so far have ignored them and didn’t click on any links.

I wish Shopify would say something if not publicly at least to all of its customers to confirm that there is no “compliance - trademark action going” on.

There are a lot of scams around and Shopify can not give importance to each one. But there is a page in the docs that comes up as the first result on Google for “shopify compliance scam email”

Recognizing legitimate Shopify emails
Shopify will only send emails from official domains such as @shopify.com, @email.shopify.com, and @em.shopify.com. Emails from public email services such as Gmail, Yahoo, Apple mail, or Hotmail aren’t from Shopify and should be treated as potential phishing attempts.
And if you search Google or here you can find thousands of similar/same topics, every day 4-5 new topics appear. Different Gmail email and similar topics but with the same goal - to scam you. That urgency is one of the scammer’s tactics.
So you did good, ignore and do not click any links.
