Email Validation for Classic customer accounts

Hello ,

its pretty crazy that to register an account on shopify you just whatever email you want and password

and it creates a user.

is there a way to verify emails to see that I’m not dealing with bot’s etc ?

I’m not using the new customer account because it is not editable so I chose the classic.

any help would be great,

Hey @ChicBotique !

I am not aware of any way to implement this natively in Shopify, but one option to do so would be to use an app like Helium Customer Fields, which includes an option for requiring email verification.

One thing to note with this is that technically the account is created as an inactive record as soon as the form is submitted, but is not considered an active account until after the email has been verified, so I am not sure if that 100% fits your use case for this.
