how to enable quick checkout with mandatory fields without the need to create an account? with an option to continue to creating an account

  • Login to your Shopify admin dashboard.
  • Navigate to Settings > Checkout.
  • In the Customer contact method section, choose either:
    • Phone number or email: This allows guests to checkout using either method.
    • Email only: Restricts checkout to email addresses.
  • Save the changes.

There is no native setting in Shopify to completely remove customer accounts from the checkout process. It’s a core feature of the platform. The only options are:

  • Give the customer the choice between creating an account and checking out as a guest.
  • Force account creation on every order (by setting accounts to “Required”).
  • Use a third-party app or custom development to modify Shopify’s native checkout behavior and remove accounts. But this goes beyond standard options.

How can I give the option between creating an account and checking out as a guest? from my understanding this feature no longer exists.

You can offer both the option to create an account and the option to check out as a guest during the checkout process. Here’s how to set it up:

  1. In your Shopify admin panel, go to Settings > Checkout.
  2. In the “Checkout customization” section, click on Manage.
  3. Click on “Add customization” and select the option to allow customers to create an account or check out as a guest. Configure the settings according to your preferences.
  4. Click Save and then Activate to implement this customization on your checkout page.

This way, during checkout, your customers will have the choice between creating an account with you to benefit from advantages (order tracking, loyalty program, etc.) or simply proceeding to payment without creating an account if they prefer.

You’re mistaken! Offering guest checkout alongside account creation is absolutely a feature that still exists on Shopify.
