Enable recaptcha on embedded Klaviyo form

Im looking for a assistance to enable recaptcha on our embedded Klaviyo form.
https://sunprotectionaustralia.com/pages/wholesale

(Captcha works with internal shopify forms of course… but not with this Klaviyo one.)

Klaviyo has told me:
The setup of Google reCAPTCHA would not be a Klaviyo capability, but rather something that would need to be coded onto your website.

If this is of interest, please let me know.

Thanks

Bruce

I too need this:-)

We need too, Klaviyo is a source of continuous bot intrusion trough client application

So what I figured out is that the bots are using the Klaviyo subscriber link to keep signing up and not the site embedded or popup form, as even when I remove those forms they continue to sign up, so I’ve gone to Klaviyo settings>default sign up form which no one sees (double opt-in) and added phone number and options fields to make it impossible for a bot to subscribe.

the form on the site is live again. So check the Klaviyo double opt-in form which is bypassed anyway.

nice Adam, thanks for sharing

Hey Adam,

Do you mean in Settings>Other?

Yeah, not sure why these are hidden so well.

update: even when changing these they still sign up, so I’ve had to add a condition to exclude emails with a ‘+’ to the sign up form ‘flow’, making it ignore them. So emails with a plus go to a spam list which I delete manually.
this is not ideal but prevents email sends to these fake emails.

yeah the + seems to work for part but the purge is not automatic. probably need to set up webhook to catch new emails and then delete via the API, but really its kind of counter-productive where a captcha would work.

I’m having the same annoying spam problem. I have to constantly monitor the spam to avoid further price increase tiers. They further make it complicated to delete the emails and conditionally suppress the lists. And double opt-in doesn’t work and loses customers.

For small store owners, it’s expensive to get it right and maintain custom code for captcha on the form. It’s such a simple solution for Klaviyo to do captcha on the form, but it’s not in Klaviyo’s best interest to do, since they recently changed their pricing model according to subscribers (more money for them).

Software companies deploy their own bots to make more money off customers. Hmm, could Klaviyo be doing the same?
