Seeing this error - “There was an issue processing your payment. Try again or use a different payment method.”
On checkout page on clicking on “Pay Now”
How to resolve this issue?
Make sure of the following:
Payment method is “Active”
Payment Gateway is cashfree and the account is active
Hi @yyrenx
if the Cashfree account and payment method are active, try checking the Cashfree payment logs/dashboard for the failed transaction. The exact failure reason should be shown there.
Also make sure your Shopify store domain and checkout domain are correctly configured/whitelisted in Cashfree, and that the Cashfree account connected to Shopify is the same live account where the payment methods are enabled.
If it still fails, try placing a test order with another payment method. If the other method works but Cashfree fails, the issue is most likely with the Cashfree gateway configuration rather than Shopify checkout.
If you can share the exact error/reason shown in Cashfree’s transaction logs, it should be possible to narrow down the cause.
Hey, @yyrenx
Hope you are doing great!
If the payment method is active and cashfree is connected correctly , reinstalling the app probably won’t solve it. I’d check the Cashfree transaction/API logs and Shopify payment events to see what is being rejected when “Pay Now” is clicked. The exact gateway error there should point to the cause.
Since Cashfree is active and reinstalling has not changed the result, I would stop reinstalling and run three controlled checks: (1) capture the exact Cashfree failure log at the moment you click “Pay Now”, (2) place one test with another payment method, and (3) repeat the same cart on mobile and in an incognito window. If another method works, the gateway/configuration is the leading hypothesis; if no Cashfree attempt is logged, investigate the step before the gateway. Please don’t share keys or customer data publicly.
Hey @yyrenx, that message is Shopify’s generic wrapper around a refusal that happened on Cashfree’s side, so reinstalling the app will never touch the cause. Two setup items fail every transaction at once: your current storefront domain has to be whitelisted in the Cashfree dashboard (redo that any time you change or add a domain), and the Test mode toggle for Cashfree under Settings > Payments has to be off before live payments go through. Phone number also needs to be a required field at checkout, since the plugin depends on it. Open the failed attempt in your Cashfree dashboard transaction log and the decline code there will tell you which one it was.
Hi there @yyrenx
This is almost always a payment gateway configuration or checkout validation problem, not the app installation. Make sure that your Cashfree credentials, webhook configurations, currency and payment mode are the same as in your cashfree account. Also test with a different product, a different shipping address, and a different payment method to determine if the problem is specific to a product or to checkout. If the problem still isn’t fixed, switch on test mode temporarily and look into your payment gateway logs for more information on the specific reason your transaction failed.
@yyrenx Since the error appears only after Pay Now, I’d first verify whether the correct market, product, variant and localized storefront state are reaching checkout.
If you share one affected product URL plus the customer country, I can run the pre-checkout market path through Drishq MarketCheck and report the evidence.
