I am facing this issue related to CSV metavalue
Value requires that you select a metaobject.
If using metafields use the admin to make a working resource(product, order, etc) with that metaobject already selected > export to CSV > inspect values > emulate format in other CSV.
Otherwise you need to DRASTICALLY improve the quality of your description in what your doing to lower the effort required for others to figure out what your doing and how.
Hey Paul, I don’t understand what you are trying to say.
Make one that works export that to CSV and see how it is made, then copy that pattern to import.
I already do that, but I am facing the same issue with this specific product.
Then show a working example then and specify the metafield column of issue.
Remove any extra columns that are not relevant to the issue, if possible avoid making others have to download files.
Take a step back and think about the number of steps your creating that someone else has to guess at to try and replicate this problem before they can even being to troubleshoot.
We don’t have your store setup, we don’t have your metafields or metaobjects.
You need to communicate in specific replicable terms for something others do not have access to.
Hey Paul, here’s the CSV for one product that is making the issue.
Hi @MBilal
Could you tell me what issue you experienced while importing? I have tried to import the product using your CSV file, and it worked well.
This is the issue that I am facing.
- 1 product failed to be imported due to invalid information To import products that couldn’t be updated, fix any errors in the CSV file and try importing it again. Failed to import: - Line 2-5: Validation failed: Value requires that you select a metaobject. |

Your CSV has some metafield columns, so I guess that is what caused the issue. You can try to remove them and import them again.
Just had the SAME issue… and I saw your post. I tried everything just like you did… In the end I managed to somehow fix it - by simply copy and pasted everything into a new spreadsheet (not a new tab!). And Voila! Done! (I still don’t know what happened tho…)
Hello Mbilal,
