Error: "Owner subtype does not match the metafield definition's constraints" when updating products.

Hello,

We are facing a problem when we try to update products from our ERP system to Shopify; This is the error we are getting: “Owner subtype does not match the metafield definition’s constraints”.

It seems to be related to the metafields format. When we inactivate them, the items are updated with no issues. We started having this problem around December, was there an update in Shopify that could have affected this setting? If so, what is the new format we should use for metafields?

What are you using to update it, is it app, then contact app support.

is it cusotm app or custom code/solution, then need to check it and make the adjustment to match the metafields format, Shopify is changing to often the formats, so that can be the case.
