Hi, please help me becouse i spent a day on forums and still can’t find any solution. On one of my stores in Poland i don’t use Paypal and i have Classic “Checkout” button. I open a store in Germany and i have to use PayPal but i have a problem that insted of classic “checkout” button i have Yellow Button PayPal Express checkout. How to change this button on classic “Checkout” button. I need PayPal payment method but in payment methods, not in checkout. If i turn off dynamic buttons i have only “add to cart” button.
Im using “Sense” theme.
hi @Mikson39
Totally understand the frustration — this issue trips up a lot of people, especially when expanding into new markets.
What you’re seeing is the PayPal Express Checkout “dynamic checkout button”, which shows up instead of the classic “Checkout” button on product pages when PayPal is enabled and dynamic checkout buttons are turned on in your theme.
- Here’s how to get the classic “Checkout” button while still keeping PayPal as a payment option at checkout:
Go to your Shopify Admin > Online Store > Themes.
- Click “Customize” next to your active theme (Sense, in this case).
- Open a product page template in the theme editor.
- Click on the “Buy buttons” block or section.
- Uncheck “Show dynamic checkout buttons”.
This will remove the yellow PayPal button and bring back the classic “Add to Cart” + “Checkout” flow.
Don’t worry — PayPal will still be available as a payment method on the actual checkout page, just not directly on the product page.
Why this happens:
Shopify’s dynamic checkout buttons are intended to speed up purchases by offering payment gateways directly (like PayPal, Apple Pay, etc.).
Disabling them keeps the user within the usual Shopify cart > checkout flow — which sounds like what you want.
Happy to help!
