Hi there I have a specific problem and I am looking for advice on the best options.
- I have a store that sells products in the US. We are a distributor for hundreds of brands.
- Many of these brands are also available in Canada.
- 90% of our sales are generated from google shopping using our current US shopping feed.
What is the best method to start selling in Canada with a US based company?
I see there are shopify markets, but from my understanding this duplicates my site and changes the price to CAD if the visitor is from a Canadian IP (correct me if I’m wrong)
The problem with this is that it duplicates my site, so there is a lot of US specific advertising and information that may confuse the Canadian visitor. It will also include a lot of products on the store that will not be available in Canada.
The ideal solution for me is to somehow use my US llc to launch a store with only Canadian products on a .ca domain that can have Canadian advertising.
What is the most optimal route to do this? When I tried to set up my shopify store on the .CA domain I was getting errors and it was asking for a Canadian address which I dont have because we are a US based company.
I see quite a few of my competitors advertising in Canada with .CA domains so I know its possible to do what I want I just don’t know how. Hoping someone can shed some light on this confusing issue.
Thank you
