Experiencing constant issues with an e-commerce platform's backend?

Honestly, what is going on with the backend of Shopify?! Every day new updates that don’t work, constantly being logged out and losing entries, constantly having to delete photos and then having to add photos that keep deleting, swapping items from one store to another to find no matter how many times you log out to hopefully save changes, the item says not stocked at this store. Please SHOPIFY, before I have a heart attack from stress, can you sort these continuing problems out please?

Signed a very stressed product input person.

They’re absolutely impossible to reach for support. You will never, ever get to actually speak to someone to get support even though when you run into a problem their “go to” message is: Contact Shopify support for further assistance. Hmmm, okay. Wouldn’t that be nice?

I thought that would be the case. I’m so frustrated right now. Hours of work lost. I have to save every step of the way which is pretty time consuming. Oh well, onward I guess. Thanks for the reply though, much appreciated!

Hey @TechnoProbs and @Sheba12 .

I appreciate the feedback that you have shared with us. If you are in need of contacting Shopify’s live support, you can do so by navigating to our Help Center. With that being said, when you arrive on the Help Center, you will need to make the virtual assistant be aware that you would like to Speak with support and you will be connected with a Support Advisor accordingly.

If you are unable to successfully login to your store and would like to speak with Shopify’s live support, you will need to navigate to this URL and complete the form. Once you complete the form, you should see the options to speak directly with a Support Advisor about the situation.

Let us know if you have any questions.

I too hate them, their back end is so full of bugs and the site malfunctions half the time. The head of development and head of UI/UX should be fired fired fired. Terrible decisions constantly being made. Over the next year I plan to just give up on shopify and move to Amazon completely. I’ll just have a basic company website that leads to Amazon instead. Tired of paying for a product that doesn’t work and tries to upsell 3rd party products to give you the basics of what should already be there.

Pre-2020’s they were the best thing since sliced bread. As typical with tech companies, they have gotten greedy and focused on scaling without making sure everything works. They are truly abhorrent and I dream of getting rid of them near daily, but there is nothing that fits. The second there is a better option I am dropping Shopify like the sack of crap they are.

I feel that way too. Four years in with them and I’ve seen them pivot features and useful upgrades to ‘shopify plus’ while making things costlier for small business. I could give you 10 things that drive me crazy about Shopify, but the most maddening thing is when new features are not developed fully. For example they exhort us to move to metafield-powered product filters and then cap those filters at 5k products. Your filters literally disappear. I wouldn’t have that problem if I had stayed with tags. Many things in Shopify feel bolted on. Technical debt seems high.

i’m actually surprised that no one has stepped into the small-medium business opportunity that Shopify has created by kneeling in front of their new enterprise masters. Square has a great POS but is too immature on the API side. I’ve looked at WooCommerce, Ecwid, Wix, and so on. They all just kind of suck for a business that is not longer ‘small’ but isn’t quite ‘medium’ and I think there are millions of us.

Sending requests through the Support Advisors doesn’t work!!!

Is Wix better??

Im starting hate Shopify from the BS they are continuously doing. They are now the big company that screws over the small brands. The stupid bleep toby says as the reason he started the company is the exact opposite of what they are doing now. They keep your money that owed but never miss deductions the fee they charge monthly, Finklestein is always smiling on camera but behind the scenes is finding dirty ways to charge more for less. That crap about “making commerce easier for everyone”, “I feel it in my bones” crap is all talk. what you care about is your shareholders, it’s lame that a 9 billion dollar company thinks having phone service is bad. When you are dealing with people money you cowards should make it a point to provide phone service. they way companies have cowardly stop communicating with companies begs for competition that does. They have a monopoly an they are acting like it. Corporate trash
