Experiencing unusual FB data center traffic from Clonee Ireland and Altoona?

I’ve seen this question asked and also noticed Shopify reps will not touch this question with a 10-foot pole, so hoping fellow Shopify users have an idea about this.

Is anyone else having MASSIVE FB data center traffic recently? These bots are messing with our pixel and charging us. We don’t even target Ireland. FB has literally refused to reply to our ticket about it and Shopify has confirmed it is datacenter traffic. I spoke to a META PR Team today and when I mentioned this to them, they seemed to have heard this issue before and said they’d look into it.

Based on the info you have shared here this is likely to be coming from a Meta services datacentre, and as such is not something we can help out with from here in Shopify.

Given the nature of the origin of this, you would need to be working with their support team as you mentioned you’ve already initiated here.

I did manage to find this article on their own site that goes into depth on datacentre traffic that you can also refer to.

I’d advise you to continue to follow up on their side with this query, to see what they may be able to disclose.

FB rep literally tried lying and said they don’t have datacenters in those cities. Google says otherwise.
