Experiencing unusual USPS label price adjustments?

The only email we received was telling us that our shop was identified as one that received one or more USPS adjustments and that the technical team is reviewing the issue. We have received no update since. This is absolutely ridiculous. This should have been fixed by now!

Hi @DesignBee

If you have not yet received any further communications from our team about this please reach out to our authenticated support for an update.

The issue is considered resolved (as in no longer happening) and corrections should have been rolled out to all affected merchants. You can also double check in your admin under Settings > Billing to see if there are any refunds or shipping credits applied to your billing cycle.

When will shipping credits be available in our accounts? I see nothing yet

When will the refund show up as processing?? I got my shipping credit but my refund for the amount that I already paid doesn’t show up in my recent bills at all, even though the email says it should.

And waiting for the refund…I’ve been credited back but I dont’ want a credit…I need that cash to run my business!

I’ve been affected by this. A press release re this issue is the kind of thing that would affect a stock price. You hear me Shopify.

Hi @bransonbaits

Thank you for joining the conversation. This issue was from earlier this year and should be fully resolved by now. Are you seeing recent issues with your shipping charges? If yes, please reach out to our authenticated support team for a review of these charges and further assistance. To access our authenticated support, please follow this link: Shopify Help Center.

we do not use Shopify, but USPS click and ship and UPS on our own. Why use Shopify when it is so easy to deal with shipping compaies directly ? UPS does adjust afterwards and alwyas fo a bit less money.

Hi! Im seeing this happening to me on nearly every order that we have sent out for over a year now! We are being hit hard by these “unknown adjustments”. Did you ever hear back from Shopify? Did they ever make things right? Please let me know!

I do not understand why any of you is using shopify shipping ? We tried once and thought they were unclear. We have a UPS and USPS account but use mostly UPS. We go approx with the scale, thye pick up and we are charged and price adjusted the same or following day. We get billed every week and the package has its adjustment in that same billing cycle. Ups does not ship to POBox though but better for us, need to see these people have a real adress. All of you complain about troubles with Shopify but noone thinks of simply not using them ? You do not have the obligation. I knwo, we never did

Still getting TONS of these and they are over .05" inch or .07 oz discrepancies! For real! And we have NO WAY TO DISPUTE them with @Shopify_77 or the USPS.
Absolutely ridiculous. Feels like USPS has just found an irrefutable way to make more money as we have absolutely no say in their unfair adjustment method. I have standardized box sizes and VERY accurate weights for them and my products. I even overestimate them. If they mishandle the box, it gets wet or something else that changes the box materially…I have no way of controlling that.
So now what SHOPIFY? Are we just to accept these charges without question?

This was a one time glitch affecting many people. Since then and before them 100% fine no issues.

Absolutely STILL happening and GETTING WORSE!

Hundreds of dollars in adjustments. Not just pennies either!

I’m having the same issue. I kept receiving shipping adjustments saying the box size was incorrect (it wasn’t) and then charging an upcharge. To make it worse, the supposed larger size should have cost the same as the original box size. I contacted Shopify support to no avail. I then started overestimating the box sizes since they were the same price, but now I’m getting shipping price adjustments that are completely outrageous–eg they said a box was 15x15x16 and charged me a $20 adjustment. I don’t even own a box that is 15x15x16. There are no repercussions for the shipping companies and the onus is on the merchant to take photos to prove the actual size instead of on the shipping companies who are the ones supposedly finding different measurements than what’s written on the box by the box companies. It’s a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Why use Shopify’s shipping ??

Deal with USPS directly or UPS, Fedex

Why go through the trouble

It’s easier for me, keeps everything in one place and there isn’t much difference in the pricing but I use Pirateship for larger packages.

Maybe a little easier but i keep reading complaints from people using it, so, the time wasted arguing with them..

We use UPS and Usps is offered for international.

We charge less to customers than the real cost and make an approximàte when we do Ups and they fix always to our advantage. But we charge less because our items are not taxable and if you charge hàndling fees and more than the real cost in shipping, you have to charge taxes and will not bother with this.

Not complicated to print or do usps or ups at all.

Because USPS and UPS directly are not competitively priced as Shopify’s pricing.

Yes, but check at the end of the year how much extra you were charged and also the time you wasted fighting wrong charges. Read of a man who had 2k of extra charges during the year. So turned out to be more. And some companies depending of the volume, will give you discount.

I do not like to give control to only one company because we are stucked with them.

Also, we have wholesale customers outside of shopify amd some wabt Fedex, etc. So, we do all separate from shopify.

Plus, shopify keeps changing stuff , now fraid filter is out at the end of the month. Too much time wasted on looking into their changes, i limit to whatvis needed with them
