Facebook Pixel Not Working (with pictures)

Topic summary

Facebook Pixel not firing or not recognized on Shopify stores, often with a mismatch: Chrome’s Pixel Helper shows events, while Facebook Events Manager reports “No activity yet.” OP tried Pixel ID and manual code; Helper first showed nothing, then events, but Events Manager stayed inactive. Final fix for OP: clear all-time browser history; Pixel Helper began working using Shopify’s standard integration.

Key takeaways and fixes reported:

  • Prefer Shopify’s native pixel install; avoid duplicate manual code. Pixel Helper shows live events; Events Manager can lag.
  • Disable ad blockers and tracking protection; clear browser history/cache; test in another browser/device; use https:// URL when sending Test Traffic.
  • In Events Manager > Settings: enable Automatic Advanced Matching and “Enable full use of Customer Data…”; several users confirmed this immediately activated tracking.
  • “This pixel is not paired with any product catalog” is a warning; pair a product catalog for Dynamic Ads.

Status:

  • OP resolved; several users confirmed similar fixes. Others still see “No activity” despite Helper firing, and one reports Shopify’s Facebook app failing to install the pixel (manual code works on storefront but not checkout), suggesting a possible app/installation issue. Screenshots were used to illustrate steps and warnings.

Hi Sam,

Thank you for your reply.

As you suggested, I published a backup Theme I saved from a few days ago so there should be no leftover code of the pixel. However, I’m back to square one where the Pixel Helper is back to gray color saying “no pixel found”. So no events seem to be triggering live. I even created a Custom Conversion in the Events Manager (ViewContent for my /collections page), but the status still says “No Activity Yet”. My address is hotcrow.com and the pass is 8888. Please let me know how this can be fixed. Also if you have Skype or some type of instant messaging (fb), that would be a better way to communicate. I’m not sure how to send private messages on here.

Thanks again,

John
