On my shopify pos, I have to take the long way to search an existing customer as there is only a tab for “add new customer” I have to click on that and then click on search to be able to find a customer to start scanning their purchase. The “add customer” tab used to take me directly to the search for existing customer and then if one couldn’t be found, I could click on “add customer”
Anyone else experiencing this? Or finding it frustrating?
Yes we too have just realized this new update and find it very frustrating. Why wouldn’t it just default to the search first?! We have noticed there is a lot lacking in the POS store front aspect of Shopify. Really wish they would catch up!
Agree. I wonder who they ask before they launch these changes. Its like a new suprize almost every day when you go to checkout a customer. I find lots of the changes are good but this one just makes me shake my head. Who would think this is a good thing?
We feel like there have been way too many changes recently and there wasn’t
even an app update! I don’t understand why they feel the need to change
things constantly, on the pos and on the admin. It’s extremely frustrating!
Another thing in a long long line of Shopify removing functionality from the system. It’s beyond frustrating how they continue to take away our ability to use the system, but continue to take our money each month.
Yes, extremely frustrating and I totally agree. I removed the “add customer” tile from the dashboard completely because it’s pretty much useless now. I find tapping the search at the top directly and navigating to the “customers” tab to be the quickest way now to search for customers. Really confused as to why Shopify wants to complicate things for their users… who is coming up with these changes…
I completely agree! I was so used to searching for a customer that now, when it defaults to the first name field, I end up typing in the person’s last name in the field and then have to click away to the search field. It doesn’t sound hard but it is definitely annoying and takes up more time when one is trying to be swift at checkout. I hope they change it back. Agree with the person who said they deleted the Add customer quick link from their POS as it is no longer a useful tool for searching existing customers and seems best to just use the search at the top and clicking to the customers tab once your result has populated.
Yes and also even more frustrating is that when you do search a customer and then realize they are in fact a NEW customer, you can’t just click “ADD”
but you have to back all the way out and go to the stupid button they gave us. I have contacted shopify through the pos in hopes that they will relay our frustrations onto the programmers.
Apparently if you go onto your pos in settings… you click on report a bug. Put in your feedback/complaint and submit it. This gets their attention and gets to the people who can make the change.
