- Have you tried to test your search bar using any other browsers or devices?
- Are you noticing any other issues with your Shopify admin or storefront?
I haven’t seen any reports of this happening to merchants at the moment. I also tested my search bar to double check and I didn’t see the problems you described. It may be something related to the browser, device, or network you’re using that is causing this. If you’re still having trouble with your search bar, I’d recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps to start:
- Clear the cache and cookies on your current web browser, then completely restart the browser.
- Ensure the web browser being used is up-to-date with the latest version. You can also read more about the browsers we support here.
- Ensure the web browser’s cookie settings are enabled.
- Ensure that pop-ups are not being blocked on the web browser.
- Try this out using another web browser.
- Try it out using an incognito/private browser. When you try this, confirm that any browser extensions and add-ons have also been deactivated. These can change the way webpages look and function.
- Try another device, like a different computer or mobile phone/tablet.
- Try it on the Shopify Mobile app. This is usually the best step to try as it also rules out device issues.
- Try with another internet connection (for example, switching to a cellular network on a phone, rather than WiFi).
- Ensure there are no firewalls or VPNs enabled on the device or network. These can interfere as well. If you are using a VPN, try setting it to another location, or switching it off.
