Hello, my name is Fiona and I’m having trouble with my payouts start from yesterday.

I got a failed payout email and stated "Your payout couldn’t be deposited because the bank account details you entered were incorrect. You need to enter bank account details for a valid checking account. "

But my bank account detail didn’t change and I can received payout successfully on & before 6Dec.

Anyone can help to solve the issue, thank you!

Hi, there @Fiona1003 !

Thank you for making us ware of your situation, and I can appreciate this may be a stressful time. Rest assured I am here to help and point you in the right direction.

There can be a number of reasons why the payout has failed, these include;

  • Incorrect bank account information
  • Account currency mismatch
  • Invalid account type
  • Incorrect beneficiary/recipient name
  • Insufficient funds to cover a negative payout

You mentioned in your title that the issue seems to be the name on file for the account? Usually, what happens here is that if the Beneficiary name on our payout doesn’t match with the name on your bank account, your bank may reject the payout and send it back to us, resulting in a failed payout. The default payee information used on Shopify Payments payouts is pulled from your Shopify Payments account information and is based on your registered business type. For Sole Trader/Sole Prop accounts, we pay out with your personal name.

As well as that, Banks may also reject the payout if the Payout Descriptor does not match what is expected. If payouts are failing, and all other details are correct, our banking partners recommend that sole proprietors include the name of the bank account owner in the payout descriptor.

Do you see another banner accompanied by the message in the Payouts screen, such as
Unable to withdraw funds from your bank account or other similar errors, like my screenshot below;

If so, please click on View failed payout and proceed with the next banner to either to Update bank account details or Retry payouts.

If the reason given in the banner doesn't have an action for you to perform, then kindly [**reach out to our live support teams here at this link** ](https://bit.ly/3LhkZdX)so that they can assist with this further._

Hello, Fiona

I had the same issue since 19th November. Have you already fixed the issue? How did you fix it? Many thanks!

Same. Good luck! I leave support messages, email and call them over and over and the funds never transfer. Do you think they make money on the interest by sitting on your money and not releasing it?
