One of our customers is using a gift card + discount code and the total amount is less than 0.5 CAD. She tried a few cards but the payment cannot go through. I checked the abandoned checkout and it says “Amount must be at least $0.50 cad”.
Why is this happening? Can anyone resolve this issue?

Most online payment gateways have a minimum order value for transactions to be eligible. In this situation I would provide the customer a custom discount code or gift card with an additional .50c on it to cover the remainder cost of the product. You can also manually create the order with an adjusted price to compensate for the .50c as well.
If your payment gateway is providing that error message, there is no way around the .50c limitation other than to increase the order cost or adjust the order total to 0.00.
