FBA stock levels in a location

I want to import my FBA stock levels into a Shopify location for the purposes of reporting and having all my data in one place.

I use Marketplace Connect for shipping MFN orders. I also import my FBA orders using Marketplace Connect (which are then automatically processed).

I spoke to the Marketplace Connect team and they said that they couldn’t do that. Does anyone have a solution for this? I was thinking of exporting and importing the stock levels from FBA to Shopify usng CSV’s but Shopify annoyingly makes me use a handle instead of the SKU.

Any suggestions?

You can definitely import your FBA stock levels into Shopify using a CSV, but as you mentioned, Shopify requires the handle instead of the SKU. A simple workaround is to export your product data from Shopify, match the handles to your FBA stock levels in the CSV, and then re-upload it.

P.S. You could automate this process using a custom script or app to update stock levels regularly without manually editing the file each time.

Thanks Merchanto - I can probably do an automation using MS Power Automate.. I was just hoping that there was a better solution that did’t need maintenance each time I created a new product.. something I can set up and forget about without using external software too.

You should be able to do this with Order Automator. People use the feature to automatically sync FBA inventory + fulfill Shopify orders. In your case, you could just turn on the inventory sync but not mess with fulfillment.

Here’s what I’d envision your setup looking like:

  1. When you enable the FBA connection in Order Automator an FBA location gets created

  2. You select the products you want to sync

  3. Those products all sync inventory at the newly created FBA location

  4. Those products all have another location that takes priority, so orders would never get assigned to the FBA location

The app is also customizable, so to further ensure you just want to show inventory numbers, you can contact through the app to request that automatic fulfillment be permanently disabled for that location, could also submit any other ideas you have that would help in your use case.
