Feature request: Add more details to inventory movement (moved to other) - adjustment history

Very confusing messaging in our adjustment history on the admin side. We encountered issues with inventory and when digging into the problem, found a ‘moved to other’ and ‘moved from other’ adjustment history. After spending a half hour on the phone with support, it was me that figured out it was from a draft order being created, and the products being put on reserve.

If we could have the adjustment history in admin say ‘reserved on draft order #xxx’ that would be helpful.

There is still an issue with using Stocky for year end stocktakes and having draft orders open. I strongly urge anyone doing a year end stocktake using Stocky, to close out all your draft orders (record them first - you have to manually write it out, you can’t print draft orders). Put the inventory back into your system (nothing on reserve), then do your stocktake. Then you can re-enter your draft orders. This has been (yet another year of a) nightmare in trying to get our inventory correct for something that is the most basic service for a retail store. Let us have our inventory correct for one day a year please! I gave up trying to show the person on the phone how Stocky and Shopify have messed up the inventory - she said maybe I miscounted at year end (every single item on that draft order apparently LOL). This is the only work around I can think of and I hope I find my own post a year from now when I have to re-do this nightmare of a stocktake system.

Hi, I created Inventory History Guardian specifically to address this issue in Shopify. It allows you to create adjustments with notes, see all adjustments across your store in one place and export it, it also saves them so you don’t lose them after 90 days.

It records the daily inventory of each variant/SKU so you can analyse your stock and forecast when you should reorder.
