Feature Request: advanced reports as an a la carte option

We need a couple custom reports routinely. Right now we are on the ‘shopify’ plan at $1200 annually (plus we pay for apps and we pay for the POS in addition to that - an additional $2040 annually - so our total annual cost is already at $3200). We are unable to utilize the shipping with Shopify (due to Canada Post sending credits to Shopify instead of us, and Shopify not sending those credits to us). There is no bonus to us to switch to paying $5274 annually for the ‘advanced’ plan (plus our pos and one back up app, bringing us to an annual total of $7314).

The only thing in the advanced plan that is of any use to us is the advanced reporting. I do not trust third party apps after having had issues with them in the past - and since Shopify already has coded the advanced reporting, we request that you make this an a la cart option for us to buy. So I can pay for two reports that I need to use routinely, that you do not include in the shopify plan.

What kinds of issues have you had with third-party apps?

I’m sure there are decent apps (I use some as I have no other choice until Shopify codes it in). Each app has a spot for user comments - if you read through there you will find the challenges that app users experience. Our business relies upon the system staying up and fully functional. I will not add apps randomly until they are very time tested and affordable. The shopify business model of double dipping is frustrating to the end user of the systems.

Of course, we understand that you want apps that have good user feedback over a prolonged period. There are plenty of reporting apps that fall into this category, such as Report Toaster, Report Pundit, Better Reports, etc. Any of these will likely pay of themselves with the increase in efficiency and visibility into your business.
