I think this is a really big gap in Shopify’s native shipping system that really should be addressed sooner than later. My business is bound by legal country restrictions to only be able to ship to certain products within certain regions and now I am forced to invest in an app that costs me $50/mo because Shopify cannot natively do this.
I used shipping profiles to create restrictions for my licensed products because that’s exactly how this feature is described. Little did I know that my customers were being double charged for shipping if they happened to order from two different profiles. (First Class rate x2)
This was concerning to me because who knows how many sales we lost to people shocked by the price point of $9.50 First Class Shipping (rightfully so). We were even called scammers on Instagram because it at one time was upwards of $13 for First Class shipping due to the double charge cost.
After months of looking, I finally found “Intuitive Shipping” which would solve my issue. All I needed was this feature called Blending Mode for shipping costs:
Just a little upset that I have to pay $50/month for this one small feature. This is literally all I need and this is all I wish that Shopify had built into its Shipping Profiles natively. Currently the way the profiles work, is they just “Add the shipping method costs together”, there’s no choice other than that.
Please, it would be great if this could be added in. I saw a few other threads of people asking similar questions to this with no answers and I know most people wouldn’t want to pay $50/mo to create restrictions, but I am quite literally legally bound so I have no choice.
