Feature Request: Built-in AI-generated content disclosure tool

With EU regulations on AI-generated content disclosure coming into effect in August 2026, many Shopify merchants will need to clearly label AI-generated images and content on their storefronts.

We’d love a native Shopify tool that makes this easy — for example:

  • A simple toggle or badge system in the theme editor that automatically adds an

    AI-generated content

    label to images or pages, without requiring custom code.

  • Automatic embedding of metadata (such as C2PA / Content Credentials) directly into images, so that AI disclosure is machine-readable and not just visual.

This would help thousands of merchants stay compliant without needing a developer. Please consider prioritizing this before August 2026.

I completely agree.
The need has been accurately described and is urgently required. We need this, just as presumably all retailers in the EU do as well.
