We process a high volume of orders daily and one feature that we think could significantly improve workflow efficiency would be the ability to colour-code rows in the Orders dashboard.
When the order list becomes large, it can be difficult to quickly scan and triage orders without clicking into each individual order. It gets very easy miss things when in our peak season and the [email removed] tagging staff system can be messy when you have emails flying all day long. A simple visual layer such as background colour or tag-based highlighting (Similar to colour coding sub-folders in email) would allow merchants like us to instantly identify different order types quick, on one screen and reduce errors.
Example uses in our store:
• Highlight drop-shipped supplier orders
• Highlight internal warehouse products
• Highlight orders for another staff to follow up/contact customer etc.
• Identify split shipments
• Flag RED priority or urgent orders

Merchants need to take control over their processes don’t expect shopify to build your business for you.
Something like this is likely NEVER gonna happen in the native list pages. platform branding vs merchants going at it with crayons while ignoring accessibility of color blindness et al. and then what merchants think improves a process quickly turns into just adding MORE noise at a platform level I could write a 10k essay on the problems just in the screenshot alone
Don’t work in the order list that’s a landing spot not a destination just like a computers desktop.
Don’t dwell there otherwise you get into a mindset of handling things sequentially while also wanting random priority == friction.
Use the filters, saved searches, use browser bookmarks, setup automations to tag orders etc etc
Beyond that you need to DIY it as a spreadsheet workflow , userscript/brower-extension, or apps either custom or in the app store that does this( keywords: order tag workflow apps etc etc ).
Shopify provides basic broad use tools, if you need more than that invest in your process.
