I own a small retail business that has used Shopify since day one. We love POS Terminal’s customer-facing display, and have customized every last detail to add to the in-store experience. It has been great for building our email list and largely problem-free.
Three issues that seem easy enough to solve:
- Marketing opt-in language needs to be customizable. “Special offers” is not appealing to our customers and feels off-brand for us. I often find myself explaining that we aren’t like that, and I literally can’t change what it says.
- Receipt options should be editable so we can set which options customers choose from. Our store does not offer gift receipts, but a more recent app update added this button at checkout, causing mild confusion.
- “I don’t need a receipt” option is just too small compared to everything else. Customers struggle to find it probably half the time, we are often manually skipping it for them.
In general, this is an area where it seems easy enough to allow for more customization without the need for third party apps or turning functionality off entirely. I would love to see this improved and am happy to chat with whoever at Shopify works on this.
Thanks!
