This is a pretty straightforward question : when are we getting global shop metafields, and a collection reference type ? Those are the two main things preventing small stores from using the native metafield system only, without an app (import/export being the next problem for bigger stores).
The metafield editor has been out for a while now, and I don’t understand why we still lack those features ; moreover, I don’t get why we got metafields for pages, blogs or even blog posts before getting them for the shop, that are way more crucial to development and store maintenance, and allow us to store site-wide JSON config or messages for example.
