The Shopify mobile app currently displays product inventory availability directly on the order detail page, but this feature is missing from the desktop admin. When processing orders on desktop, I have to navigate away to the Inventory page or open a separate tab to check stock levels — adding unnecessary friction to order fulfillment workflows. Bringing inventory visibility to the desktop order page would create parity with the mobile experience and meaningfully improve efficiency for merchants managing high order volumes.
I do not want to purchase or install a third party app. Ideally this should be Shopify native.
I completely agree! The fact that desktop admin lacks this feature while mobile has it is quite aggravating. While completing orders, we shouldn’t need to open a different tab merely to check stock. I hope Shopify would soon update this natively!

I agree this would be a good native improvement. Displaying the stock quantities on the desktop order page would help reduce tab switching, increase the fulfillment pace and unify the desktop and mobile interfaces. As a workaround, when you are procesing orders you can keep your product or inventory view open in another browser window, but including this right on the order page would be a much more efficient solution for merchants with a lot of orders to manage.
