Hi Crescentmoon.

With online store pages, I’ve always touted that you want the journey from site-entry to product to be as short as possible.

At the moment with yours for example, I load into the home page, 1/2 screen is navigation menu, 1/2 is imagery. One scroll-wheel down and I can see the smudge stick text. I have to scroll once more to see just the range of smudge-sticks, which is only 10% of your category range. Scrolling further gets me to another four categories, still only 50% of your total range - but one of those categories is the smudge sticks again, so back to 40%.

So some suggestions would be:

  • Shrink the logo/homepage down to 25% of that first page.

  • Either remove the image entirely or make it a background to the logo somehow.

  • First visible thing below that image should be categories, with more than 4 visible at a time (a regular size monitor should fit six easily. As you’ve only got 12 total, I might even just have all 12 categories visible.

  • Below that then might be sale items, as sale items are some of the strongest CTA’s.

Some images to give an idea of what I mean:

Finally then the age-old comment on shipping. If your shipping is even 20% of the cost of your item, that can be off-putting. Yours is in some cases is 130% of item value. Either find a cheaper shipping option or build some of the shipping cost into your actual item prices. Another method is to change the titles of your shipping methods. Instead of “Standard” change it to “Standard - Orders over 30$ get free shipping”. Whatever the order value is where you’re happy to cover the postage yourself. Especially effective if you’ve built some of that postage cost into the product price to begin with.

I’m not sure what postage expectations are in Australia, but 8 working days is essentially two weeks, which feels excessive. If you feel you can meet it, maybe reduce it to 5 days? Better to apologise to the odd complaint when that 5 days is missed than potentially put more people off with the reality of worst-case-scenario shipping times.

Then as a comment on the product pages, maybe have more images of each product. Show what sort of packaging it comes in, maybe just have a stock image of the herb mix in a receptacle or open pouch.

Hope some of that helps or inspires.

Thank you so much, i have started with some of your suggestions, i really appreciate the input.

Hello @wattie1111 ,

Please find my observations below, that might help improve your CRO and better user experience

  1. Prioritize Page Speed:

Optimizing page speed is crucial for a positive customer experience. Your current mobile and desktop page speeds of 64 and 98 respectively. While your desktop score indicates a fantastic performance, there is a room for improvement in case of mobile page speeds. I recommend using Google PageSpeed Insights to identify and address performance bottlenecks.

  1. Leverage Stock Scarcity:
Create a sense of urgency and encourage immediate purchases by displaying the exact number of items remaining in stock instead of a generic “a few items” message.

  1. Display Product Rating Stars:

Enhance product visibility and credibility by including review rating stars for each product in the product list. This can influence purchasing decisions.

  1. Home page image is blurry, would recommend to improve the image pixels

Hope these recommendations help you.

Hi @wattie1111 ,

I’m Tracy from BON Loyalty, the top-rated Shopify loyalty app.

After experiencing your website, here are a few suggestions from me that can help you improve the performance of your store and attract more customers:

1/ Review the content on your store

  • One thing I noticed right away when using your website is that the content is quite lengthy. I appreciate the effort you put into writing content to provide customers with as much information as possible, but this style is more suitable for blog pages. On an e-commerce site, content should be written in a concise, catchy, and more promotional way.
  • On the product page, the main focus should be your products. I noticed that each collection has a very long paragraph before showing the product display. I think you should move this detailed guide into the product details section, or dedicate a separate blog post to talk about it.

2/ Enhance the branding of your business

  • The homepage plays a crucial role as the first impression of your store for customers. Therefore, we need to rearrange the layout of the homepage to make it neat, concise, and provide useful information about your products to customers. You can refer to homepage layouts here: https://webflow.com/list/online-store

3/ Improve the quality of product images
This is what your product image looks like when zoomed in:

The quality seems quite blurry, and there aren’t many illustrations (only one image).
Some apps that can help you improve image quality include: Enhance AI, TinyPNG, Image Compressor, etc.

4/ A few other tips to improve store performance:
Social Media Marketing

  • Instagram & Pinterest: These are great platforms for visual products. Post regularly, using high-quality photos, reels, and stories that highlight your products. Collaborate with pet influencers to reach a larger audience.
  • User-Generated Content: Encourage customers to post pictures of their pets using your products. Offer incentives, like discounts, to encourage shares, and repost their content for social proof.
    Paid Advertising
  • Google Ads & Social Media Ads: Target users based on their search behavior or interests in high-end pet accessories. Use retargeting ads for users who visited your site but didn’t make a purchase.
  • Influencer Collaborations: Work with influencers in the pet niche to promote your brand and drive traffic through their audience, either via sponsored posts or affiliate programs.

I hope these tactics will help drive both organic and paid traffic, increasing visibility and potential conversions. Good luck!

If you find these suggestions helpful for you, please let me know by giving BON Loyalty a ‘LIKE’ or marking it as a ‘SOLUTION’.

Best regards,

Tracy
