Hey @24storegmbh
I appreciate you asking for honest feedback because you need to hear this before you invest more time and money into this store. Right now youâve essentially built an Amazon clone, and thatâs going to be nearly impossible to succeed with as a new Shopify store.
The fundamental problem here is youâre trying to be everything to everyone, and that doesnât work for a small independent store. You need a niche. You need to answer the question of why someone should buy from you.
Are you curating the best tech accessories? Specializing in Swiss products? Offering unique items people canât find elsewhere? Providing exceptional customer service in a specific category? Right now thereâs no compelling reason for anyone to choose your store, and no amount of design tweaking is going to fix that strategic problem.
Beyond that, letâs talk about your cart experience because even if you had a focused store with a clear value proposition, youâre still losing potential sales with how this is set up. When someone adds a product to their cart, youâre redirecting them to a separate cart page. That completely disrupts their shopping flow.
They were browsing your products, found something interesting, and then you yank them out of that experience and send them somewhere else. A lot of people will abandon right there because the friction is too high.
You need to implement a slider cart that opens right on the same page without taking people away from their browsing. This keeps them engaged and makes adding multiple items feel natural instead of disruptive. Once you have that slider cart working, add a progress bar showing how close they are to free shipping or a discount threshold.
When someone sees theyâre twenty francs away from hitting that goal, theyâll look for another item to add. Without that visual incentive, they donât even know the opportunity exists.
Use that cart space to show complementary products. Someone adds a phone charger, show them a charging cable or car adaptor that works with it. Someone grabs headphones, suggest a case or cable organizer.
These are natural pairings that make sense together, and youâre making it convenient for customers to see what else they might need without having to search through your entire unfocused catalog.
Hereâs something thatâll save you money as youâre trying to figure this out. Donât install separate apps for every cart feature you want. One app for the slider cart, another for upsells, another for progress bars, another for product recommendations. That approach gets expensive fast and youâll be bleeding money on subscriptions before youâve even made consistent sales.
Look into something like iCart that handles all your cart customization in one place. Itâs more cost-effective and keeps your site running smoothly.
