Feedback on My Digital Assets Shop

Hey everyone :waving_hand:

I recently launched a small shop offering sections and snippets for store owners and developers. Since I’m also using Shopify as my own platform, I’d really love your feedback — both on the design and the overall user experience.

I went for a clean, minimalistic style, which I personally like, but I’m still unsure if the features and layout feel complete or if something’s missing.

I’d really appreciate your thoughts, suggestions, or any ideas for improvement!

Thanks so much!

Hi @Ecomhacker

First, it is good that you are using Shopify as your platform, and I do like the minimalistic look. But there are a few things I am not sure are good solutions.

That right-click alert is so annoying  And really not needed.

Removing the index page is a bit strange. I know you wanted to keep clean and one less click, but you could do the same grid on home, too. Plus some text would be good to welcome visitors, explain, and generally be good for SEO.

Collection page, again could use some description, minimal is ok, but at least some text. First thing I did was click on an image, but that has no link. But there are 3 links: to a strangely empty product page, to the article page, and a demo in a new blank page. To me, that is a bit messy, and I think you could have done all that on the product page. Image with title and description, add to cart, link to demo (maybe just an anchor link to the second section or pop-up), and link to guide in the third. section.

I do miss an FAQ section or page. You know the first question will be “Would this work in my theme?” Have you tested my theme? And so on.

Guides in general are good, detailed, and should be Ok to repeat by a regular store owner. Again, different themes, different codes/looks/styles. You probably could have a paid service for custom themes.

I do not like the button “Get files”, it is a bit misleading. I expected to get files and not add to cart. And you should track this part to see if people are willing to leave personal information to get files or abandon cart.

Shopify does have generate sections and blocks, and there are several apps that add theme sections with a few clicks, like Section Store, but I think this still has audience.

So thank you for offering free sections, and good luck with the store.

I love it!

As Laza_Binaery said, the right click alert is annoying.

I like the minimalist approach, this is pleasing to browse.

Not a big fan of the Flavor Profile design.

And why is there no demo for the UGC content section?

Demos don’t link back to any nexus or reference.

Get rid of the redirect give a url that gets to that url.
Redirect fails when javascripts off anyway, as there’s not also a noscript meta refresh fallback.

Don’t use the hand-cursor in place of pointer if there’s no special interaction.
Make it clear what is clickable to get from A to B, tiny name links making people pixel hunt.

Right click thing really only catches people who don’t know what’s going on anyway.
Anyone savvy blows past such things.
Anti-pattern type thing that just tends over occupy a merchants bandwidth keeping track of it all.

Hi there! Congrats on launching your shop. The minimalist look is appealing, but a few usability tweaks could help visitors understand what you offer and make a purchase more easily.

  • Create a proper landing page – A short hero section on the home page that explains what SectionHunt is and highlights your best‑selling sections/snippets will orient new visitors and improve SEO. Right now there’s no intro text when you land on the site.

  • Remove the right‑click alert – Disabling right‑click is intrusive and doesn’t really protect your code. It interrupts the browsing experience for no real benefit.

  • Simplify navigation – On the collection pages there are multiple links (product page, article, demo) for each item. Consider consolidating these into a single product page with tabs or anchors for description, demo and documentation. Also make sure the product image or card itself links to the product, so people don’t have to guess where to click.

  • Add context and visuals – Minimalist pages can still include a few sentences about what each section/snippet does, its key features and compatibility. Animated GIFs or screenshots of the section in action help customers visualise the result before buying.

  • Build trust – If possible, include testimonials, ratings or examples of sites using your snippets. Clearly state your licensing and refund/support policy. A prominent add‑to‑cart button and pricing on the product page will also help.

With these adjustments, your clean aesthetic can remain intact while giving shoppers the information and confidence they need to purchase. Good luck!”

It’s been funny trying to navigate to the actual product page. Product title is clickable and takes me to a page with only an image? Show Demo is a huge button that people think leads to the product, only to have to close that, go back and click the small underlined text “how to guide” to get to the actual product. That’s pretty pointless. Can’t you have all that on the same page? The Get Files button is Add to Cart, which also make me chuckle a bit.

I thoroughly enjoyed the confusion :joy: Thank you.

Hey everyone :waving_hand:

Thanks so much for all the feedback — I really appreciate you taking the time to check out my store and share your thoughts!

I’ve already implemented most of the suggestions you mentioned.

Still refining a few details, but your input was super helpful in improving the overall experience :raising_hands:

Thanks again for helping me make https://sectionhunt.com/ better!

Hi @Ecomhacker

Your site looks sleek and developer-friendly, which works perfectly for this product. Navigation is intuitive, but the homepage could be strengthened by including quick previews or GIF demos of the different sections in use — that can help visitors instantly understand the value. A brief “how it works” explanation and some clearer pricing levels would also build trust and increase conversions.
