Feedback on My Store’s Homepage & Product Page to Boost Sales Using Dawn theme

Hi everyone,

I’ve redesigned my store homepage and product page multiple times, but I’m still facing ongoing issues with sales. Despite implementing every suggested solution and optimization, the results haven’t improved. I’m using the latest version of the Dawn theme and don’t have the budget to invest in a premium theme.

I’d really appreciate it if you could take a look at my store: www.shopeaglestore.com. Any feedback on my homepage and product page would be extremely helpful.

If possible, please keep any communication here in the thread so I can track all the suggestions and responses easily.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @EagleHunted

It’s a hard truth: success rarely comes without investment.

Currently, the PageSpeed score for your product page is quite low (view screenshot), and the homepage score isn’t significantly better (view screenshot).

To address these issues effectively, I recommend focusing on SEO strategies to improve your website’s performance and visibility. Small, consistent improvements can lead to long-term results.

Given the constraints of a limited budget, prioritizing Off-page SEO would be a strategic choice. These efforts, such as building backlinks and enhancing your online presence, are cost-efficient and can gradually enhance your site’s authority.

If you possess the necessary expertise, integrating On-page SEO strategies would be even more impactful. By optimizing your website’s content, structure, and technical elements, you can directly improve conversions and drive revenue growth.

A strategic approach to SEO will not only improve performance metrics but also lay the foundation for sustainable business growth.

I hope this helps

Best,

Daisy

Hi @EagleHunted ,

Thanks for sharing your store with the community! It takes effort to redesign and optimize pages, so kudos for your persistence! I’d be happy to help review your homepage and product page, leveraging CRO best practices.

HOMEPAGE

  1. Improve Call-to-Action (CTA) Placement:

  • The “Shop Now” button on the banner is good but could be more visually prominent. Consider making it a brighter color (e.g., yellow or green) to stand out against the blue background.
  • Place an additional CTA button slightly below the fold for users who scroll.
  1. Use Images with Context:

  • While the category images are visually appealing, they feel generic. Replace them with images that better represent your products and brand identity (e.g., actual product shots with models for “Men’s Fashion”).
  1. Optimize the “Best Selling” Section:
  • The “Best Selling” button is redirected to the hero banner.

  • Use larger product images with consistent styling and better spacing.
  • Add product reviews (star ratings) below each product title to build trust.

PRODUCT PAGE

Excessive Length and Scrolling:

The page is too long, requiring users to scroll excessively, which can overwhelm or frustrate customers. Here’s how you can address this:

  1. Condense the Content:

Use tabs or accordion menus for long sections like product descriptions, specifications, and customer FAQs. This keeps the layout clean and prevents unnecessary scrolling.

Suggested tabs:

  • Description
  • Specifications
  • Customer Reviews
  • FAQs
  1. Optimize Product Images:

Instead of showing all product images at once, use a carousel or slider for the images. This makes the page look neater while still showcasing your visuals.

  1. Reduce Repetition:

Some product photos are redundant (e.g., multiple similar angles or setups). Use 5-6 of the best images and offer a “View More Photos” button for users who want additional visuals.

My Suggested Structure for the Page:

  1. Hero Section (Above the Fold):
  • Product Title
  • Product Images (Carousel)
  • Price, Variants, and Add-to-Cart Button
  • Key Benefits or Reassurances (e.g., free shipping, secure checkout)
  1. Tabbed Content (Collapsible Sections):
  • Description
  • Specifications
  • FAQs
  • Customer Reviews
  1. Customer Reviews (Highlight Top Reviews): Include a few top reviews with customer photos.
  2. Related Products: Display a small, visually clean section of related products.
  3. Footer Section: Include trust-building badges and payment options.

I hope these suggestions help you optimize your store! Let me know if this is helpful to you.

Best regards,

Kate from PageFly

Hi @DaisyVo

Hi Daisy,

Thank you so much for your insightful recommendations.

Regarding the PageSpeed issue, I actually had it optimized previously, with a score of 97 on desktop and 85 on mobile. Unfortunately, after about three days, the speed problem resurfaced. I’m not sure what caused this, but it’s certainly something I plan to look into again.

As for the homepage, I removed the collection element at one point, but after receiving a suggestion to add it back to improve visitor experience, I did so. However, I’m now thinking about hiding it again, as it may not be as useful as initially thought.

In terms of SEO, I’ve already implemented on-page optimization for both my product pages and the individual product listings. I’ve also been working on internal linking through the blog to guide traffic to relevant product pages.

However, I’m not very familiar with building backlinks for off-page SEO. Would you mind sharing a few simple steps or suggestions on how to approach this? I’d really appreciate your guidance on this.

Thanks again for your support, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Hi Kate,

Thank you so much for the thoughtful and detailed feedback! I really appreciate the time you’ve taken to review both my homepage and product page, and I’m excited to implement your suggestions.

Regarding the Call-to-Action (CTA) button: I’ll certainly look into changing its color to make it more prominent. However, I’m not entirely sure where or how to add a different button. Could you advise on how to implement this within my current setup?

For the images with context, I’ll try to update the category images, but unfortunately, I don’t have model shots for the fashion images. I’ll see what I can do with other product visuals that better represent the brand.

About the Best Selling section, I don’t currently have a collection for this. Could you guide me on how I might redirect the button to a relevant page, even if I don’t have a specific collection set up?

Regarding the product page, I’m not sure how to add tabs or create a carousel for the product images using Ecomposer. I’ll reach out to their support team to see if that’s a possibility and get their advice.

For the collapsible sections, I’ve already implemented this for FAQs and shipping policy. I’ll see if it’s possible to add collapsible sections for the other product page elements as well.

As for customer reviews, I unfortunately don’t have reviews with photos, and not all products have reviews at all. not all customers leave reviews, even with incentives. If you have any other suggestions for how I can gather more reviews or build trust with customers, I’d love to hear them.

Regarding the footer—when you mention trust-building badges and payment options, do you mean adding additional trust or payment pages like those on my homepage? I’d love to clarify how best to implement this.

Thanks again for all your helpful advice. I’m excited to make these improvements and will keep you updated on my progress!

Best regards,

Hi @EagleHunted

Thanks for reaching out to the Shopify Community! I’m Mia from MooseDesk, your go-to Live Chat, WhatsApp and FAQ App here to help you enhance your customer support experience

Congrats on your new store! I can tell you have put a lot of effort into building this. However, I have some comments to boost conversion rates. Here are some of my recommendations for better customer experience, please kindly check

1. Revise Category Section in HomePage

  • Section Title: Add a clear and bold title above this section, such as “Shop Our Best Sellers” or “Top Picks for You.” This helps users quickly understand the purpose of this section.
  • Category Cards:
    • Use consistent card dimensions for each category to make the layout look cleaner.
    • Add a subtle hover effect (e.g., image zoom or shadow) to make the cards interactive.
    • Include short, descriptive text under each category, such as “Explore our latest styles” or “Perfect gifts for your loved ones.”

2. Enhance Product Section in HomePage

  • Pricing & Discounts:
    • Display the discount percentage more prominently (e.g., “50% OFF”) to grab attention.
    • Highlight savings in a consistent and more readable font.
  • Product Information:
    • Shorten long product names to ensure clean alignment. Use tooltips for the full name if needed.
    • Add a “Quick View” button for a seamless browsing experience without leaving the homepage.
  • Badges:
    • Standardize badges (e.g., “New Arrival,” “Sale”) in terms of size and placement. Ensure they don’t overlap with product images.Call-to-Action (CTA):
      • Add a visible “Add to Cart” button for each product to make the buying process more straightforward

3. Add Trust Signals

Trust signals help reassure visitors about the security and reliability of your store. Here are some key elements to include: Free Shipping, Money-Back Guarantee, Secure Payment Icons, Customer Reviews/Testimonials

4. Add Social Media Channel

You might consider adding Social media the section near the bottom of the homepage, right above the footer, or just below featured products. This ensures it’s noticeable but doesn’t distract from core shopping features. Use enagaging title like “Follow Us on Social Media”, “Let’s Get Social”, “Discover More on Instagram & TikTok”

5. Revise FAQ Page

While the FAQ page provides necessary information, it could benefit from better organization and design to enhance clarity and usability. I highly recommend trying MooseDesk, this app provide FAQ page templates that are modern, visually appealing, and customizable to match your brand’s style. With MooseDesk, you can quickly design an FAQ page that is both user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing, without the hassle of coding

So those are some of my suggestions for your store as an UX expert. If this is helpful for you, please let me know by giving me a ‘LIKE’. If your question is answered please mark this as 'SOLUTION’.

Once again, keep up the fantastic work, and I wish you the best of luck in the future!

Hi @MooseDesk

Hi Mia,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback and recommendations! I really appreciate the time and effort you’ve put into this. I’ve already implemented most of your suggestions, and I can see a noticeable improvement in the store’s layout.

Regarding the “Add to Cart” button, I did try adding it, but it looked a bit messy on the homepage. As a result, I decided to keep it hidden until someone hovers over it to maintain a cleaner look.

For the trust signals, they’re already placed on both the product page and in the footer of the homepage, but I’m unsure if they look too cluttered. I’d love any additional insight you might have on that.

As for the social media channels, I’ve added them to the footer but wasn’t sure how to position them below the featured products. Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.

Lastly, I’ve already worked on revising the FAQ page, but if you think there’s room for improvement, would installing the MooseDesk app help? Is it free, or are there limitations on the templates I can use?

Thanks again for your valuable feedback and support. I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi @EagleHunted

Backlinks are links on other websites that point to your website. In the world of SEO they’re like votes of credibility from other sites. The more high-quality backlinks you have, the higher your website is likely to rank in search results.

You will need to contact the biggest website yourself and ask if they can ask your store link on their websites

Best,

Daisy

Hi @DaisyVo ,

Thank you for the helpful explanation! I understand the importance of backlinks now.

Could you please guide me on the best way to approach these websites to get results? All I’ve come across so far are random ad posts claiming to sell backlinks, but they don’t seem to work and sometimes even cause more harm than good.

I’d appreciate any tips you have!

Best regards,
