Feedback on my store

Hello! Can anyone give me some advice please? I opened my shop a couple of months ago: https://dominantpunk.co.uk but haven’t had any sales yet. I don’t know whether the prices of the products or the shipping is too high or whether there is something wrong with the checkout process. I sell preloved products.

I currently ship to UK only (I need to find out shipping costs for overseas before adding a new shipping profile). I have advertised on Facebook and Instagram and have had plenty of views but no sales.

Can someone take a look and give me some feedback please? Thanks very much.

Hi @Dominant_Punk65 , thank you for posting here!

Once I visited your store, Dominant Punk I can tell you have put a lot of effort into building it.
I wanted to share some specific feedback with you here that you might find useful:

  1. The DAWN THEME is a popular Shopify theme; however, it needs to be customized more to fit your concept and products, as the plain white background makes it look similar to other stores and doesn’t showcase what you’re selling effectively.

  2. The hero image doesn’t convey what your store aims to sell to customers. I highly recommend changing the hero image to include the products you offer. Additionally, consider having a different text and font tagline for your store instead of “Browse our latest products”.

  3. The quality of the hero image and other images are some kind of not high-quality, so you need to optimize them.

  4. Regarding the product section, to be honest, when I look at your store, I’m unsure what your main product category is. The products seem a bit chaotic and need to be organized more logically, making it easier for customers to understand and find what they want according to their needs.

  5. I noticed that your store has no logo brand for the searching tab, I highly recommend that you create one to build trust and make your store more trustworthy.

Besides, to increase the conversion rates of your store, I wanted to share some general tips on traffic and conversion with you here that you might find useful:

Hi,

I’m Kate, a CRO expert from PageFly Page Builder. Here’s some feedback to help optimize your Shopify store for conversions:

General

Add a favicon to your store for brand recognition. You can set it up in the Theme settings.

Homepage

1. Improve hero banner

  • Ensure the hero banner fits within one scroll for optimal impact.

  • Place the CTA prominently and clearly communicate its benefit.
  • Use action-oriented CTA copy like “Discover Now” or “Explore Now” to encourage engagement.

2. Add more sections to the homepage

  • Highlight your unique selling points with clear and concise benefit icons.

  • Create a curated collection list to help customers find products quickly.

  • Summarize core product features, including shipping and return policies, for transparency.
  • Include an “About Us” section to connect with customers on a human level.

  • Showcase social proof with customer testimonials and reviews to build trust.

3. Improve the “Featured product” section

  • Consider renaming this section to “Best Sellers” for clarity.
  • Emphasize product features with high-quality images, brief descriptions, and GIFs.
  • Display review numbers to boost credibility.

Product page

1. Improve the product details section

  • Create an immersive product experience with high-quality images, videos, and detailed descriptions.
  • Use models to showcase product dimensions and fit.
  • Include lifestyle images to inspire customers.

2. Add value propositions

  • Clearly communicate key product benefits to address customer needs and concerns.
  • Reinforce value with benefit icons below the add-to-cart button.

3. Add review section

Reviews are of great importance in the user’s mindset of purchase. Encourage social proof by displaying customer reviews, photos, and Q&As.

Additional Tips

  • Mobile Optimization: Ensure your store is fully optimized for mobile devices, as a significant portion of traffic comes from smartphones.
  • A/B Testing: Continuously test different variations of your pages to identify and implement high-performing elements.
  • Site Speed: Optimize your website’s loading speed to improve user experience and reduce bounce rates.
  • Clear Navigation: Create a user-friendly navigation menu to help customers easily find products.

Hope my recommendations can help you to improve your website!

Hello @Dominant_Punk65 ,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I’m Lindsey from BON: Loyalty Rewards Referrals.

I really like the vibe of your website! It’s very punky and impressive. Regarding your question about improving sales from the website, I want to suggest a few points that you can improve right away. I hope these changes can attract more traffic to your website and increase conversion rates as follows:

  • Change the font on the Theme: Currently, you are still using the default font of the theme on the Menu bar and text in the buttons, which isn’t consistent with the font you are using for blog titles and your store’s branding.

  • The banner under the product slider isn’t clear in its purpose. Instead, you can add concept images or outfit combinations to give customers more direction when shopping (Having reasonable mix-and-match outfit photos will make customers more interested in your products).

  • The product descriptions on the Product details page are a bit long. You should shorten them, focusing only on displaying information such as size, material, available colors, and stock quantity.

You should also use models to showcase product dimensions and fit, and even include lifestyle images to inspire customers. Or if you need a more budget-friendly solution, you can try Picjam, a great tool that uses AI to generate stunning model images when you give it the product image. Take a look at the example below:

  • Change the logo on the checkout screen: The logo still has a white background, which doesn’t look professional.

I’ve removed the background from the logo for you, and you can use it now.

In addition to these website changes, you might consider adding features to enhance customer experience on the website:
