I would really appreciate some feedback on my Shopify store. I’d like to understand if my homepage looks clear and professional, and if there’s anything I could improve to increase trust and conversions.
I also have a question regarding payment methods. Sometimes Shop Pay appears at checkout, and I’m not sure if this could be confusing for customers. Do you think it’s better to keep it or disable it?
Any suggestions or honest feedback would be very helpful. Thanks in advance!
Here are the areas I think you should review and improve:
Homepage:
You should use a more modern-looking theme and avoid leaving empty white spaces on both sides. The current design is too sparse, especially for the tech toy niche.
You should vary the colors between sections to highlight important parts (using more prominent colors).
Add ‘Add to Cart’ buttons so customers can add products to their cart faster.
Category page:
The product backgrounds are inconsistent, creating a cluttered feel.
Add a ‘Quick View’ feature for product information on the category page.
Add ‘Add to Cart’ buttons.
Product page:
Reorganize the information layout to highlight essential details such as price and key selling points to drive purchase intent.
Change the ‘Add to Cart’ logic instead of redirecting straight to the checkout page. You can add a ‘Mini Cart’ feature and display it after a successful addition. This way, customers can stay informed about their cart while continuing to shop.
On the Shop Pay question, keep it. It actually increases trust rather than creating confusion because people recognise it and it makes checkout faster. Disabling it would work against you not for you.
Now the bigger thing. You’re selling electronics in Malta and that’s actually a real advantage that you’re not using at all. Being a local Maltese electronics store means people can get products faster, support someone local, and potentially have an easier time with returns or warranty claims compared to ordering from abroad.
None of that is communicated on your homepage right now. Someone landing on your store has no idea why they should choose you over ordering from Amazon or a bigger international retailer. That’s the most important thing to fix because it’s your strongest selling point and it’s completely invisible.
The free delivery anywhere in Malta and lifetime warranty on many products are also huge trust builders but they need to be front and center on your homepage, not buried somewhere people have to dig for. Put those prominently where someone sees them within the first few seconds of landing.
The cart redirect is hurting your conversions. Electronics buyers often want to grab multiple accessories or compare a few things before checking out and the moment you push them to a separate page after adding something, that browsing stops cold. A slider cart keeps them on the page and in that mindset.
From there, show cross-sell suggestions inside the cart too. Someone adding a phone case should be seeing a screen protector or a wireless charger right there without having to go back and look for it. Add a free shipping progress bar in there as well to nudge people toward adding one more item.
Don’t go installing multiple separate apps to get all of this working though. It adds unnecessary load time and costs more than it needs to. Something like iCart handles the slider cart, progress bar and in-cart cross-sells all in one place.
You’ve been around the community for quite some time, so you should have picked up some things from other people’s posts. From “Store feedback” or posts like “no sales.” And I do not know if I gave you feedback before, but here is what I see now.
Homepage:
The announcement bar, I would make it stand out by a different background, but also would post a link to either all products or a separate page that explains free shipping.
Menu, for me, this is a big issue. Tell me some other store where you see a menu in 3 rows, with 13 items. That is too much for customers; they got confused, not clear at all, and it looks like a bunch of text, very messy. I would first remove Home, you do not need it. Then would organize all in 4 main collections with a few sub-collections. And have just those 4 main collections, Contact us and About us (but please make it a bit more personal, something real, not that AI-generated text).
Would also try to change the announcement bar, so the text you have to be on the left and on the right a link “Sell Us your used Electronics” that deserves to be separated.
Your hero banner should be more spcific then just linking to all products. Moreover, because just below you also have a full collection and 24 products. That is not the point and too much. But for the hero, it should be more oriented to some sale, connected to some events, follow callendar, but also have a title and a short description, for SEO but also to lead customers more.
After hero I would put 4 main collections, then maybe just one row of bestsellers, section about us, keep that reviews and maybe genreal faq. Check for example https://impact-theme-sound.myshopify.com/ they have a bit too many sections, for demo purposes, but you see the content. If the customers scrolls more, it means they probably search for some specific collection product, or more likely some trust signals that the store is fine.
your footer could use 4 columns of different menus, again to help customers navigate
Collection page
You could use some descriptions, a bit for cusotmer a bit for SEO.
That filter is very basic, in some collections, you do not need it at all, and in all collections, you could use a collection filter so customers can find products faster.
You have a lot of out-of-stock items. Not great, but you could also use a different badge color so they are more distinct from sale items.
Product page:
It needs a lot of work and improvement. For example, that motion sensor, why do you even offer 7 items, plus make that the default value? But 3 is “most popular choice”. Also you have sale plus a discount on quantity so you should show better. As for your prices are now, it is more then 50% and not 15 or 20 you have. That leaves customers confused. And if you do want to se more items, that is probably for wholesale, so B2B.
In the product description, you have images, and that looks very bad, like beginer dropshipper that just imports products. Check screenshot, all images and some repeats, and some have text, but very small
Btu what is missing the most are information and trust signals in main form area. Check this page for example https://stepprs.com/products/massage . It starts with stars, then title, price, and sale price of the accent color. Then 3 main features, at glance to show the main value. Most popular selected. Have payment logos and customer reassurance icons as trust signals. A bunch of information in tabs, then a few featured reviews, adds to trust also. Sale, sense of urgency, but I hope it is a real sale not a fake one. And additionsl icons and text. THen page have a lot more sections, maybe a bit exesive but video gives another view, then explain value in the next, features, and use cases. Reviews you do have but videos from customers are gold. AS page is long there is a sticky add to cart too.
Please make Add to cart full background color to stand out more
You could use maybe bundles, with some discounts, as you do have some products that match.
Not sure why you have Kitchen faucets really, that’s a bit off and random
You do have full contact information, and that is a plus, a good trust signal, and something a lot of people miss.
Gadgets and tech are so saturated, and people can find one product in hundreds of stores online. If you target Malta only, then maybe a bit better chance. But still you are aware of prices and can not compare with AliExpress, for example. So you have to offer something unique, a better story, and customer flow. I did not see any social accounts, but that is a place you can market for free and get some customers.
