Feedback wanted on our new Shopify theme for visual brands

Hi everyone,

We just launched a new Shopify theme and I’d love to get feedback from merchants, designers, and other people building on Shopify.

SLAB is built for brands that care a lot about visual storytelling, flexible sections, and making a store feel polished without needing heavy custom development. It’s meant to work well for product-led stores that want strong editorial pages, clean merchandising, and a smooth mobile experience.

I’m especially curious:

  • What do you look for first when deciding whether a theme is worth trying?

  • Are there theme features you wish more developers prioritized?

  • What usually makes you hesitate before switching themes?

Full disclosure: this is our theme, so I’m not trying to hide the bias. I’m mainly hoping to hear what merchants actually care about when evaluating a new theme.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Looks like you are just in the starting phase.

Each merchant has specific requirements and thought processes, so you have to work on a simple and unique concept.

We develop many stores, and most of the merchants are looking a smooth website with simple navigation. Then any visitor will easily understand what they can buy and ignore.
