Store description

Hey everyone! My store, Woof M-E-O-W, is a cozy spot for pet lovers who want fun, playful merch that shows off their furry friend’s personality. I sell things like custom mugs, tumblers with more to come—all with a cute, pet-friendly twist. If you love celebrating your pets, you’ll feel right at home!

What feedback do you want?

I’d especially love feedback on the clarity of my home page, how trustworthy it feels, and whether my product pages and pricing make sense. Also, if you have any thoughts on how it works on mobile or how easy it is to navigate, that’d be super helpful!

I’m not sure what to review because theres like nothing on there. no products, colletions, just a main page.

I just went on my website and I was able to get to my products simply by going to view all. I’m not understanding what you’re not seeing on the website.

Hi @woofmeow

This is Vineet from Identixweb, a Shopify Development Agency

First of all, cure user name lol.

Now, looking at the Woof M-E-O-W website, it has a wonderfully clean and inviting design. I love it’s a classic, minimalist layout with plenty of white space, which does an excellent job of letting the vibrant product images really pop off the screen.

The simple, bold typography keeps the vibe relaxed and makes everything effortless to read without feeling cluttered.

When it comes to navigation, it is super intuitive and straightforward. The top menu offers quick, easy access to the core areas like the Catalog and Collections, right alongside the standard, recognizable icons for search, your account, and the shopping cart.

I also really like the “Shop by collection” section right on the homepage; it’s a nice touch that lets visitors jump straight into specific product lines without having to click around and hunt for what they want.

Hello @woofmeow,

I really love the zodiac series, such a cool idea! A few things I noticed that might be worth looking into.

The website feels a little empty right now, and the main page photo doesn’t really match the products you’re selling. First impressions really do matter, so having visuals/theme that reflect your brand can make a big difference.

It also looks like there are no social media accounts or an about page, which makes it harder for customers to connect with your brand. At the end of the day people buy from people, and without that connection it can be a bit hard to build trust. Even starting a TikTok account could help in getting your brand out there and letting people get to know the story behind it.

One more thing worth exploring is adding a 3D viewer to your product pages. It lets customers rotate the product, zoom in and out, and really explore the details up close. It’s interactive, keeps people on your page longer, and helps customers build an emotional connection to your products. The best part is it’s easy to set up and pretty affordable too. Hoping this feedback helps and wishing you lots of success!

Thank you very much. I’m new to making any type of websites. Even if it already done for me mostly. I still miss some things that might need to be done.

Maybe, I’m not understanding. I have pet theme name, logo and products. But my visuals /theme doesn’t reflect my brand?? Also, I’m still learning how to work on Shopify so I don’t know how to use anything 3D for product pages. I’m working on getting social media page but I do have a Pinterest page and its connected to my Shopify. Also, Shopify and a lot of other site I looked on really don’t have themes for my niches but my niches is popular. I had to make it work for my brand. But, I’m always open to ideas.

Hello @woofmeow ,

I hope you are doing well!

I think the store is not ready for a review yet. There are several important areas that still need attention, such as adding products, creating a logo, improving content, and setting up essential pages.

I would recommend focusing on developing and completing the store first. Once you’ve made those updates, feel free to reply to this post or create a new one, and we will be happy to provide a detailed review.

At the moment, if a visitor lands on the website, it may be difficult for them to trust the store due to the lack of content and branding elements.

When I first went on it, all I saw was Shopifys product place holder products. I just tetssed it again and it now shows your products.

OK, I just went on there and just went on there and took a screenshot

That is already done. I don’t know what y’all don’t see. I see it all. I’m the one that’s doing it all. I have 29 different products. I even had somebody else look into this other than myself.

I’m not too sure but I’m not seeing any products. I’m not from USA though, maybe the products are only showing in certain countries.

Hi @woofmeow

Welcome to the community.

First, to clear up some things, I am out of the US, but I used VPN, and your products do show. But check the Markets and its settings if you want to sell globally.

But to get back to your store, to put it plainly, you did most of the base work to have a store: added products and collections, did policy pages, and added full contact information (something a lot of merchants miss). So, to put it roughly in numbers, I would give your store 3/10.

I would address the theme first, yes, it is a free, default Horizon theme, and it is clean but very basic. It is not “wonderfully clean and inviting design,” it is boring clean, almost like an empty canvas. Think for a second, it is a problem with free themes, but this one is the default that a lot of people will use at the start. That way, your store will look like many others, and many with a similar theme, cats and dogs POD. Your “vibrant product images” for me scream AI. And that is not good but a lot of people tolerate it. I am just wondering, could you produce the exact same products as on images? Also, other images, besides the main one, have a strange shadow to me. It does look good on the product page.

You asked about “clarity of my home page.” There is an issue with your hero image. You should not have text on an image, especially where you place it. Because I could read only one of the texts on one specific screen resolution, and even on that, the bottom text is a bit cut off. Here is one example:

Placing the collection after is good ove, but there is nothing else. I am sure you saw a lot of e-commerce stores, and you may notice they have a lot more content, for a good reason.

For “how trustworthy it feels” well, you get one point for giving full contact details. But even that has one big issue: you do not have a proper domain. Selling on myshopify.com subdomain rarely works. It is either developer stores or scammers. Most businesses get a proper domain and email, too, so you do not use Gmail, as that is not professional at all. And I do not see any other trust signal that would make me feel safe to buy from you.

For pricing, I can not tell you much.

Mobile, its base theme feature is it fine, just again that hero banner.

Navigation? What navigation? You have Home link, and most people know to use the logo to go to home, Catalog that throws all products, and “Collection” as a title that does not give any clue where I would land. You need to improve this.

There is a lot of work ahead of you, and in a competitive niche so really, good luck. I advise you to read a lot of topics in Store Feedback, but also search “no sales” and " zero sales" and pick up solutions for issues other merchants had, and you have also. Learn and fix, and repeat.

Your website looks really good overall, great job setting everything up! The one thing that I personally noticed is that the main page photo looks a little AI generated. The picture you shared when you posted your store URL here though, I really liked that one. But that’s just my opiinon. Since you are just starting out, that all makes sense. Learning the platform takes time and you are clearly on the right track. It’s also awesome that you already have a Pinterest page and are looking to grow your social media presence!

As for 3D, there are different apps available on the Shopify App Store, which is where you can find and download apps to help customize your store. If you ever want to know more about adding a 3D viewer to your product pages, I would love to show you how it works. Hope this helps!

It’s fine, I’m in the US and I see your products.

One thing I would say is the artwork seems like it’s ai generated, and that’s probably going to push more people away than welcome them… I am a dog owner and I just can’t see myself drinking out of any of those. No offense, but I’m curious if you really thought this through and tested the products thoroughly.

The homepage hero doesn’t really line up with the ai product artwork either.

I would start focusing more on providing clear business information. Right now, your store lacks the basic about us and contact pages. No business info in footer. No real identifying marks at all, like a blank theme. Work on who you are, why you are, and how exactly you are making the products. Then I would work on the logo and menus.

Thank you for your feedback. I think 3/10 is a little harsh, but I take it. Let me just address the domain thing. I have a domain name, but I can’t use it for 60 days. I’m pretty sure you would’ve known that if you know the rules for domain names. Apparently you can’t just go around using them. Also, again, I am new to this whole store thing so me using a Gmail trying to cut corners of pain for something I feel as though I don’t need to pay for specially when I just paid for an LLC in my state and my make sure that paperwork went through and everything which came on my pocket. And I looked it up. It’s actually pretty common for people to use their personal emails then actually using business emails when they first start out. I guess that’s an American thing I’m not sure. But I was told it happens all over the world. Right now I’m actually working on updating my hero page as you said I was just looking for different themes. The only feedback I really wanted was for somebody to help me see if I could really get help on what tools to use. It seemed like y’all wanted to bash someone new and not actually helped them. It’s like the first guy I really helped me. I was looking for more guidance than bashing.

This is a professional business environment, in which you sought feedback for a professional business. It’s a good idea to separate personal feelings from business decisions.

A 3/10 might sound harsh to the new person, but it’s meant to help you grow. I know you would love to only hear praise, but that’s not going to help you. Your store needs serious help. So I would take all the advice I could get if I were you. Don’t be so defensive.

What you “heard” may apply to an Ebay or Etsy seller. We are not mere sellers on a marketplace. You aren’t selling your grandma’s used books. You are presenting yourself as a professional business (you even mentioned LLC). Professional businesses use professional email and domain. Like it or not, that’s just a standard.

I’m not sure what 60 day rules you’re talking about for domains though. I’ve heard of a 60 day for transferring a domain out of Shopify, but not for connecting a new or existing domain to your store. Maybe you misunderstood. I am not aware of any such rule or hindrance.

Honestly, I would be lying if I said your store is trustworthy. For the reasons I gave earlier. Nothing about who you are or why you’re doing this. Contact info in the footer is a standard you should not ignore. An about us page is a major plus too.

The 60 day wait is basically a mandatory security lock enforced by ICANN better known as the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. Just googled it and didn’t understand it myself. Apparently it’s only for Shopify since you cannot undo a DNS on there. They even have forms on here for this topic. I seen it on Google. Well I’ma just have the moderator. Try to delete this post. I don’t need help no more. I’m good. I’ma just figure it out the best way I know how thank you.

Fix No products found: Temporarily hide empty collections from your main menu, or change the text to something friendly like, Pawsome new arrivals coming soon! Explore our custom mugs in the meantime.

Remove. myshopify.com: Buy a clean, custom domain (like woofmeow.com) via Shopify or Namecheap. It instantly makes your store look legitimate and trustworthy.

In your Theme Customizer, click your homepage banner and change the height setting from Large too Small or Adapt to image. This brings your actual products up the screen so mobile shoppers see them instantly without scrolling.
