i hope some of you have an idea for my case: I have an online shop and would like to integrate products from partners in my shops, but I do not want to store the products and deal with the shipping and fulfillment. The idea is to forward the order directly to my partner who is dealing with the shipping. My partner is using also shopify. So basicaly it is dropshipping between two shopify stores, but I want to generate the order at my partner automatically.
Which app should i use to connect two shopify stores? Zapier?
If I understand correctly you have a Shopify store and are looking to import products from your partners Shopify store as your partner will be handling the shipping and fulfillment. So the order would take place on your store and you would forward the order to your partners shop.
At this time, it is not a native feature on the platform to connect two Shopify stores. However, I have submitted your request to our developers to look into implementing this change in the future. You can view our Shopify Changelog for the latest updates on the platform.
Could you describe in a bit more detail how your Shopify store and your partners Shopify store works? I’d like to have more context on what kind of products you’ll be selling and the process behind essentially drop shipping between two stores.
Have a search for dropshipping apps in the app store as you might find good options.
We have an app that has the ability to connect partner stores and share specific products to their resellers etc. We also have the option for the reseller to automatically send orders for those specific products back.
Some things to look out for when investigating:
Ability to split orders across different vendors if an order has multiple lines that don’t just come from one seller.
Tracking back to your account after item is shipped.
you understood excatly the issue I have. Our shopify shop has its own products (marketing services), but we also want to push small local brands (accessoires, handmade design products). Our partner do not have a big range so they can benefit from our audience.
The process is: If a customer buys in our shop partner prodcuts we would like keep a commission and our partner has to deal with the customer to fullfill the order and returns. So basically we want to act like a marketplace like amazon or etsy, but in a much smaller scope.
Does shopify has functions to act like a marketplace?
There are a few apps available that do dropshipping from suppliers. Our Channelup app is more targeted at suppliers and resellers that want to share their products directly. The reseller can then sell how they wish and we automate orders back to supplier.
If you want to test it out just get in touch with us.
Although Shopify isn’t a traditional online marketplace like Etsy, or Amazon we do have a few marketplace apps within our App Store.
The app Multi Vendor Marketplace can convert your store into a fully functioning marketplace, sellers have their own collection page and profile and you’re able to set individual commission and global commission for all sellers. Alternatively, you can also browse for additional marketplace apps within our App Store.
Another option is hiring an Expert and looking into our Shopify Developer document on building a marketplace with Shopify. Our Experts are a team of trained developers, designers and marketers that can assist you with integrating a marketplace, customizing areas of your store and helping grow your business.
