Fraudulent activity - account created in my name

I’m sure this isn’t the correct place to post this but I’m having trouble finding a way to report fraudulent activity to shopify.

someone has used my email address to set up a shopify account and activated two step verification so I can’t reset the password and log into the account myself.

doesn’t anyone know the best way to get this account shut down?

I’m sorry you have to deal with this; it’s very annoying. Here’s what to do if someone created a Shopify account using your email address without your consent:

  1. Visit Shopify’s Account Recovery Form.

  2. At the bottom, select I don’t have access to this email or account.

  3. Provide your email, explanation, and proof (if any) in the form.

The Trust & Safety team at Shopify will examine it.

If necessary, they will close the fraudulent account as part of their investigation and subsequent actions.

Thank you. I really can’t tell you how frustrating this whole thing has been. It’s impossible to get in touch with anyone at Shopify.
