We currently have a free shipping code set up for orders over $150 but would like to have a weight limit on it.
Is this possible?

Yes, you can set a weight limit on a free shipping offer in your store. Just create a free shipping rate and add a weight-based condition to specify the minimum weight for free shipping. You can read more about how to do this here.
Seems like we did look into doing this but you cannot set up a maximum weight, only minimum weight which is nuts.

If you set this up as a discount code you will run into this barrier, but you can set this up as a shipping rate instead and automatically give customers free shipping on orders over $150. You can learn more about setting this up in this guide.
We need it set up as a code to keep people from getting free shipping and a discount on top of it.
There should be a way to put a weight limit on the free shipping.
