Shopify doesn’t force you to buy a shipping label if a customer uses a free shipping discount code — it just means the customer won’t pay for shipping, but you can choose whether to buy the label through Shopify or arrange shipping yourself through another carrier.
When a customer uses a free shipping discount code, Shopify does not obligate you to purchase a shipping label.
