Fulfill Subscription Products in Recharge Bundles

We use Recharge Bundles to sell meal subscriptions. When an order is placed for the subscription product, it’s split into the individual meals products and sent to our 3PL. When the order is fulfilled, the child meals are all marked as fulfilled, but not the subscription.

I’m looking for a way to automatically fulfill the subscription line item. The apps I’ve looked at will only fulfill line items if they don’t require shipping.

I’ve installed Mechanic which looks pretty amazing but can’t do it, nor can Flow. Shopify and Recharge support haven’t been able to help.

Any suggestions, other than setting up an API? Seems like it shouldn’t be this difficult!

You should be able to do this with Order Automator. It’s an app people use to automate order and fulfillment tasks.

You create rules to do the automation tasks, but it’s also customizable so pretty sure your situation could be handled with it.

I think what you’d do is this:

  1. Create an Auto Fulfill rule in the app

  2. Select the location you wand that subscription line item to fulfill from, and then the conditions of that item to mark it fulfilled

  3. Test on an existing order to confirm the rule works as expected

If that doesn’t work, just reach out to support through the app to ask for a customization.

When you say the subscription isn’t fulfilled, you’re just talking about the main bundle product line item on the order?

I can’t imagine how that would not be possible in mechanic. Anything that’s possible via the api is possible in mechanic.

I believe it should be possible in flow as well.
