I got a problem (still) with ALL my orders. We fullfill from our own warehouse (but it’s a 3rd party logistiker using a WMS) and we dropship directly from a few vendors. After digging into this for a few weeks I found the root of the problem and was hoping for some insights.
Fullfillment location id = “null” an all orders before it’s actually fullfilled. Doesn’t matter if I change location inside Shopify, it’s still is “null”. Problem is that without a fullfillment location id on an order that isn’t fullfilled, how will an external program/app sort out the orders they need to fullfill? They cant! All orders = “NULL”.
- Is this a bug in the api?
- Is it me that has set up our store the wrong way?
- Should we use fullfillment service rather just fullfill from a location for our external (but own) warehouse?
Becomes a silly catch22 problem as I need to send the orders into the WMS to fullfill them, but I can’t send them before I fullfill them (as that is when the fullfillment location id is written to the order).
