My product is heavy so I ship 1 item per box. It works until a customer orders 2 items. Shopify only charges for 1 box, not the second one. How can I get Shopify to get shipping funds from the customer for the 2nd box? I have the weight in the product but it still only charges $6 for 2 boxes when thst is shipping for 1 box. Pls help
This usually happens when the shipping rate isn’t properly tiered by weight.
I’d recommend creating weight based tiers in your shipping rates so Shopify charges more once the cart passes that weight and make sure you have correct weights setup for each product.
Example:
0–1kg → $6
1–2kg → $12
2–3kg → $18
Then when someone adds a second product and the weight doubles or a specific product like you have requires two boxes, Shopify automatically bumps them into the next tier and your shipping fee is covered.
