I have a live streaming platform where most streamers use Shopify to sell their products. I’d like to integrate their Shopify stores into our interface by listing their collections and products for those collections. However, I do not want access to their Shopify accounts in order to do this. I also don’t want to scrape their storefront pages. How would I achieve this using the Shopify API?
Topic summary
A live streaming platform operator wants to display Shopify products and collections from streamers’ stores within their interface without requiring access to the streamers’ Shopify accounts or scraping storefronts.
Suggested Solution:
- Use Shopify’s free “Buy Button” sales channel, which generates embed codes that can be placed on external websites
- Allows customers to shop specific products or collections outside the main Shopify store
- Available to all Shopify merchants at no cost
Implementation Approach:
- Streamers would need to share their embed codes with the platform (requires their permission)
- The platform can then integrate these codes into their streaming interface

This approach avoids the need for API access or web scraping while still achieving the desired product integration.
Hey @NoTasks
I am not a developer myself, but I wanted to share information about the Shopify “Buy Button” sales channel that is free to use and available to all merchants that use Shopify. Essentially it creates an embed code that can be placed onto any external website so that customers can shop specific products or collections outside of their main online store. If you are doing this with your client’s permission, then they should be able to share one of these embed codes for you to use.
Here is a link to the sales channel in our app store that you can provide to these merchants: Buy Button channel - Sell your products on any website or blog.
